Urban Donna!

It is extremely clear to me that, millions of blogs, magazines, twitter updates, and of course every media channel on t.v has been mourning and honoring, and even until this day judging Michael Jackson. But I feel I have to say, what I feel as one of the billion of fans across the globe; of who is and even after his death is and forever will be the greatest entertainer of ALL times. I honestly cannot remember which was the 1st Michael Jackson song I heard, why because I've been listening to his melodies since I was born, and that is in the Dominican Republic. I used to love him back than, even more when I moved to the states. His magnitude reached, all generations, my parents generation, mine, and the one of my younger siblings. I must share this sort of anecdote, funny and innocent, I was about 9 years old, and I was flipping through a gossip magazine in my old NY home, and saw Michael Jackson's picture as a child than his most recent picture already with the change in his skin pigmentation, making him appear Caucasian, which at the time I believed he was. I was like daddy why does he look different now? He can't just be both. But, as the years passed , and I grew I realized that Michael Jackson was both, he was everything amazing. He made me realize that appearance truly and honestly counts for nothing, when his personality, his countless good deeds, his unique and extraordinary talent, his powerful and life changing presence on others, counted for so much more. I find it extremely hard to put into words, how I feel. How Michael changed my perception for music and pop culture. All the way from his fashion, his dance, his voice, his lyrics , he revolutionized the world. I remember on June 25th when me and my parents had returned home , I ran to the bathroom to wash my face than my phone started blinking, since I have twitter alerts on it, and I come and pick it up and I see a numerous of comments saying that Michael Jackson had been rushed into a hospital, that he was in a coma, that he had DIED. My heart sanked, I shaked my head in disbelief, I literally ran out sceamin " Maaaaa!!!!!!!!!!!!" to my mother, and beffudled she asked me what was wrong and I abrutly yelled out Michael Jackson is DEAD! Her expression was of disbelief and grief at the same time. We curiously and hoping that the sources were wrong, turn to CNN, which was one of the more delayed news station to announce that the King of Pop was gone. It took me until today the day of his memorial to truly, believe he was gone. Even with the past week filled with media phenomenon remembering the King, and talkin about his death some part of me still, was in disbelief of the situation. I must admit that I have cried, like a baby, in ways I did not imagine. I feel like I lost a very close family member, when I have never even been under the same roof , or within a reasonable distance of Michael Jackson, just through the t.v screen and the music speakers. He spoke to me , with his music, he spoke to the world. I cannot imagine how his close friends, colleges, and most of all his family and his very beloved children are coping with this incredible, soon and certantly unexpected loss. My blessings and condolences goes out his family and to his dear mother and children. All the guest and performer in his memorial did an outstanding job, celebrating the life of the King! I could not control my emotions, from Brooke Shields amazing and touching speech, to his daughter Paris, showing publicly her pain and griveance and the love she has for the father was beyond words. I can't even imagine the amount of pain those children are going through. Michael was a great father, son, and an extreme talent, a giving and caring humanitarian. Thank You Michael! I will always love you! We will always love you! May now you be in a better, place. God Bless you! Your legacy will forever live on, in each of our hearts!
